Healing your inner child?
What does that even mean exactly?
If you’re like me and you’ve lived quite a few decades, you MIGHT have started to understand the depth of what it means to do the deep work of healing your inner child as an adult. It’s powerful stuff!
If you haven’t dealt with this yet, the idea is that it’s work to heal your “inner child” that is all about addressing and resolving the emotional wounds and traumas from your past. Think of it as that childlike part of yourself that carries the memories, emotions, and beliefs formed during your early years. It's a super therapeutic and self-reflective process that essentially helps with your emotional and psychological well-being.
I always say Entrepreneurship, Marriage and PARENTING are the 3 things that will grow you as a person the MOST in life.
Parenthood has a way of causing things from your childhood to boil up to the surface.
So if we keep shoving these feelings down or pretending they're not there, we might end up being parents who are all about fear, sadness, hurt, and not being too healthy ourselves. Which has the potential to pass on your childhood wounds to your children and even create new ones.
In this blog, we're going to explore how you can give your child a childhood they don't need to heal from. We can BREAK THE CYCLE and create a brighter, healthier future for your family.

We all have someone who has played a big role in making us who we are today. For most people, that someone is our parents.
Our parents might have been our shining stars that helped us become the best versions of ourselves...
OR they might have served as cautionary tales, inspiring us to choose a different path in our parenting journey. Can I get an AMEN?!
Recently, I had the privilege of having Rossana Burgos, the Mama Bee of the Bee Family, on the Powerful Parenting Journey Podcast. She blew me away!
She shared a POWERFUL story that perfectly illustrates the profound impact parents can have on us.
Rossana revealed that her own parents were far from ideal. Instead of succumbing to the patterns she saw in her own childhood, she made a decision to not repeat those mistakes when she became a mom.
She wanted to be a better parent for her own children.
That determination drove her to become the loving and nurturing parent she is today. It's a testament to the idea that we can choose to break the cycle and, in the words of Mahatma Gandhi, 'be the change we wish to see in the world.
Rossana's story highlights a critical truth: parents are the primary source of guidance for their children.
And the key to being a positive influence on your child's life is to maintain an open channel of communication. It's the foundation of understanding, trust, and growth. Encourage your children to express themselves, their dreams, fears, and concerns. Be the person they can turn to, whether they want to share their triumphs or their troubles.
In doing so, you provide a safe space for them to develop their own voices and values.
Moreover, being an involved and supportive parent is a key factor behind a child's ability to make decisions and develop a dynamic personality. Children thrive when they have a strong support system, and parents are at the core of this network. So be that rock-solid support system for your kids.

Did you know that more than 77% of the perpetrators of the abuse are parents of the victims? It sickens me to my stomach just to think about that. I can’t even..
Sometimes, our children's worst nightmares come from the place where they should feel safe. It's disturbing to think about it. Child abuse takes various forms, including physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and neglect. These experiences can leave deep scars on a child's well-being that can last a lifetime.
But you know what's awesome? We can stop the abuse cycle and create a caring environment for our children to grow up in.
Let's work towards creating a safer and more nurturing world for our children by:
✅ Encouraging open and honest communication within the family.
✅ Teaching and setting an example of respect and empathy for all family members.
✅ Establishing clear, consistent rules and boundaries.
✅ Devoting quality, meaningful time together as a family.
✅ Emphasizing positive reinforcement and providing constructive feedback.
✅ Educating our children about their rights, personal boundaries, and safety.
✅ Act immediately and seek professional help if you suspect or someone discloses abuse.
✅ Building a strong network of friends and family for support.
✅ Prioritizing self-care for parents and caregivers.
✅ Staying informed about child development and effective parenting techniques.
If we keep these ideas in mind, we can make a big impact on our kids' lives and help make the future better for everybody.
Now, the internet is a lot of things. It's a wild, wonderful, and sometimes wacky place. Ugh!
In our recent podcast episode, Rossana Burgos shared some valuable tips for protecting your children from online dangers. You see, even with adoring fans, she's no stranger to haters and other atrocities online.
One of the biggest concerns? Those sneaky online predators. They pretend to be friends, but their intentions are anything but friendly. It's downright scary. Yikes!
So, what's the game plan? Well, Rossana had some golden nuggets of advice. First off, think twice before posting pics of your kids in swimsuits. You might see it as a cute beach day memory, but some creep might see it as an opportunity to do who-knows-what.
And it's not pics. It's what you share, too. Even those innocent details about school, hobbies, and where your kids hang out – it's all ammo for the bad guys.
Remember: ensuring their online safety is as crucial as their offline safety. It helps them explore the internet without fear, so they can grow into confident, informed individuals. They can make the most of this digital age and stay protected from its darker aspects.
Moreover, to aid in this mission of online safety, the Aro Home device can be your valuable ally. When you put your phone inside, this device connects to it and measures how much time you spend away. This adds extra protection, so your kids don't spend too much time online without supervision.
So parents, always think before you click.

Guess what? Your little ones are like tiny opinion-forming, choice-making machines in the making. That is why parenthood is not about you, it's about them. In our podcast, Rossana said we should raise a child by listening and observing. We should honor who they are and not try to change them."
We, as parents, have a multifaceted role.
We're here to take care of, guide, and back up our kids while they grow into responsible individuals.
Now, here's the thing – being honest and open is a big deal in good parenting. It helps your kids understand their feelings, trust you, and talk to you without hiding stuff.
But, it's not always easy, you know?
There are just times you’ll wonder, "Do I really have to tell my kid everything?"
Well, not everything, but you've got to give them the right info, depending on how old they are and how grown-up they're getting.
The cool part about being open is that it's not about sharing facts. When you're straight-up with your kids, you're teaching them some super important stuff. You're teaching them that it's okay to ask questions and admit when you don't know things.
You're also showing them that it's normal to have different feelings, even the complicated ones, because that's what it means to be human.
Basically, you're setting the stage for your kids to be super smart about feelings – something that's going to help them a ton in life. 💛
You're not a perfect parent—and that's okay.
In fact, your journey to becoming the best parent you can be starts with accepting that you're flawed. It can pave the way for giving your children a happy and emotionally nurturing childhood.
Perfection is not the goal; rather, it's about creating a supportive and joyful environment where your children can thrive.
If you want tips, stories, and advice to make your kids happy and loved, listen to this podcast.
Rossana and I will dig deep into the important stuff and give you some real-life things you can do to be a top-notch parent. You'll learn how to create a space where your kiddos can grow up to be awesome and totally rock at life.
Don’t forget to tune in! 💛
