On today's episode of the Powerful Parenting Journey Podcast, Stephanie talks to Russell Brunson, massively successful entrepreneur and family man.
Over the last 19 years, Russell has built a following over a million entrepreneurs, and sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his books, created an app popularizing the concept of sales funnels, and co-founded a software company called ClickFunnels that helps tens of thousands of entrepreneurs quickly get their message out to the marketplace. ClickFunnels is now the fastest growing non-venture backed software company in the world. Russell's training and software has created over a thousand millionaires. However, above and beyond all that, and the reason he is on today's show, Russell is truly a family man. He's married to the love of his life and college sweetheart, Collette Brunson and together they have five children.
During the show, Russell discusses his 'three F's,' Family, Faith and Funnels, and the reason why he never wants to lose the original reason he began the entrepreneurial journey - to have more time with his family.
He talks about the moment he sat in an empty airport, waiting for a red-eye flight for yet another speaking engagement, and realized he needed to do a 'course correction,' cancelling gigs and rearranging his successful business to spend more time with his wife and children.
Russel also shares his ideas around teaching his kids correct principles, and then trusting them to do the right things, and how much of a challenge that can be for a parent.

"You think about most people who started entrepreneurship, it's because the original dream is, 'I want more time with my family and my spouse.' We set that as the dream. And so we go on this journey. Sure, I create this dream, but then somewhere in the journey, we lose the vision of the reason why we went on the journey." - Russell Brunson
"I was taking every opportunity because I needed to learn how to speak. I was going every weekend to some city around the country to speak and at first, I was so excited because you go to new places, meet new people... And then I call my wife and she's home with the twins. She's tired and worn out. I'm like, 'I'm having so much fun.' And there's this weird disconnect I could feel there." - Russell Brunson
"I had to change the platform to be able to be with my kids. So that's what we did, we made the shifts and the changes. And then I was able to do both, which is the goal." - Russell Brunson
"My whole dream growing up was, I wanted to be a parent. I wanted to be a dad, so when you're missing those things, and you come back and see them and they age, they shift so much." - Russell Brunson
"I'm a dad first. That's the goal. All the business stuff is fun, and it keeps our minds engaged and growing. But it doesn't actually matter." - Russell Brunson
